Grading

In order to earn an A you will need to complete all Assignments in full for the term. If you are enrolled in GEOG 511, this includes the additional project.

To earn a B or C you will need to complete, in full, the Approaches to people, space and place and reflective essay assignments. You will also need to show a reasonable degree of completion on the remanining assignments. For 511 students, you will also need to complete your additional project.

Any other combination of assignments will typically earn a D or F depending on my assessment of your compeleted assignments. For additonal information on grades and guidance on what to do when circumstances make completing the course difficult go to Extensions, make-ups and Academic Honesty.

You will submit two self-assessments during the term, one around mid-term and one at the end of the term. These self-assessments will include your own suggestion for a course grade. Details will be provided in weeks 5 and 10. You and I will discuss your self-assessments, either in person or via an electronic chat on Moodle.

You can track your progress towards completion of assignments via Moodle (GEOG 411 & GEOG 511). Assignments will be credited on a binary basis, with a 1 for completed assignments and a 0 for missing assignments.
