Cultural Geography
This course is focused on methodological and theoretical issues in the study and interpretation of people, space and place.

Learning Goals & Outcomes: In taking this course, you will:

  • Demonstrate cultural geographic approaches to people, space and place;
  • Analyze cultural geographic theories of people, space, and place;
  • Relate critical geographic perspectives to the world.
These goals reflect the geography faculty's emphasis on students being able to "interpret the interrelationships between people, space and place" and also "explaing important elements of geographic thought and practice." These goals further reflect institutional commitments to having students practice Written Communication and demonstrate Integrative Learning.

Format: This class is organized into discussions of assigned readings and field work. This course is Writing Intensive.
