Air Sampling

A measured volume of air is drawn through a filter that is in an inhalable dust sampler. The filter and any collected sample can then be appropriately digested and prepared for instrumental analysis. Air sampling rates are typically identified in liters per hour.

Analysis of air samples: ICP analysis is currently the most common analysis option for air samples. However, flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAA) and electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (EAA) are alternative methods for analyzing beryllium particulate concentration. The few possible chemical interferences occurring with FAA can be minimized if EAA spectrometry or ICP spectrometry are used alternatively.
