Leadership Opportunities at WOU


The Student Leadership & Activities office can offer internships to students interested in leadership, activities, orientation or gaining skills in a variety of areas. Contact Patrick Moser at (503) 838-8063 or if you are interested!


Your WOU campus student government. They work on a variety of campus and governmental issues, advocating for WOU students' rights. Click here to visit their homepage.


RHA --
The Residence Hall Association provides programming, activities, leadership, and advocacy for over 1,400 students living in the WOU residence halls. A variety of leadership positions are available for those who live in the residence halls. Visit their office in the South Sister Annex near Valsetz or call them at (503) 838-8363. Resident Assistants --
RA's or Resident Assistants supervise communities of students within the residence halls and develop a ton of useful skills while being a part of an exceptional team. Applications are usually available late winter term. For more information contact Patrick Moser at (503) 838-8302 or


PLUS Team --
The PLUS Team is WOU's orientation group that works with new students during SOAR and is responsible for plannning New Student Week. Applications are available the first week of winter term at the WUC Information Desk. Student Organizations --

Western Ambassadors --
WOU Ambassadors work with the Admissions Office on campus, providing campus tours, working with WOU Preview Days and much more. For more information, contact Chris Jones at 503-838-8594 or Melissa Hinzman at 503-838-8532.


Peer Mentors --
Peer Mentors work in the residence halls, providing support for healthy living options and referrals for students undergoing transition to independence and college life. More more information, contact Craig Wimmer at 838-8772 or


Student Activities Board --
Student Activities Board is part of Student Leadership & Activities and is responsible for campus-wide programming and activities. Dances, comedians and more are presented on a regular basis. To learn more, contact the Student Activities Board Director at (503) 838-8558 or stop by their office on the lower level of the Werner University Center - room 110.


Student Media --
Student Media on campus puts out the Western Oregon Journal, the campus newspaper, as well as The Northwest Passage, the campus literary magazine and the KWOU internet campus radio station. You can reach them by calling (503) 838-9697.


Multicultural Student Services and Programs--

The MCRs (Multicultural Representatives) provide support and mentorship for new students from first generation, low-income and underrepresented backgrounds.
