Marshall Guthrie - Interim Director


Marshall joined our staff after moving west from New York. An authentic Midwesterner, Marshall graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in Communication and the University of Central Missouri with an M.S. in Student Personnel Administration. When he’s not casually biking through Monmouth, Marshall likes to watch movies, listen to music, play guitar, and start projects around the house without any intention of finishing them.



Beth Johnson-Doughman - Coordinator of Instruction


Beth holds Bachelor's Degrees in Secondary Education and English from Iowa State University and a Master's of Education Degree/Reading emphasis from Oregon State University. Her 42 years of teaching experience includes secondary language arts and post-secondary reading/study skills. Beth has served as Coordinator of SEP Instruction for 22 years and currently teaches ICS 103, "Becoming a Master Student" and ICS 105,"Becoming a Critical Thinker."

Beth enjoys spending time with her family--especially her four grandchildren; hiking, biking, quilting, gardening, reading, interior decorating, and Goodwill and garage sales shopping.



Letitia Erckenbrack - Educational Advisor


Letitia is a Western Oregon University Alumna who holds a Bachelor Degree in Psychology and a Master Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. She has been on staff with SEP since August of 2000. Letitia works with a caseload of approximately 90-100 students and co-teaches our Career Planning course. She finds supporting students in their journey to academic and personal success immensely rewarding. Letitia enjoys reading, doing genealogical research, spending time with her family and holds a strong interest in doing continued research in mental health issues.



Sheree Solario - Educational Advisor


Sheree graduated from Western Oregon University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business.

She joined the SEP staff in 2006.  As an Educational Advisor, Sheree enjoys seeing the students as they progress through their college experience.  Sheree enjoys reading, traveling and focusing on her family.



Alicia Monrroy- Educational Advisor



Alicia graduated from Western Oregon University in June of 2007 with a Bachelor's degree in Social Science. She joined the SEP staff in September of 2007 as an Educational Advisor.  Alicia advises around 100 students and co-teaches our Career Planning class. As a former Upward Bound and SEP/SSS graduate, she is passionate about helping students succeed.


Alicia enjoys spending time with family and friends, listening to music and traveling.




Christopher Solario - Educational Advisor


Chris returned to college at the age of 37 and with the help and support of SEP, completed his bachelor’s degree in Sociology at Western Oregon University. He continued on at Portland State University, completing master’s degrees in Sociology and Education, as well as a graduate certificate in Teaching Adult Learners.

Chris has worked with first-generation, low-income students for the past seven years, helping them break through the many barriers that exist for first-generation students. His goal is to continue to work with first-generation students and give them the tools necessary to successfully complete a college degree.

Chris enjoys reading, teaching, traveling and spending time with his wife and three teenage children.

Don Boderman - Interim Director of Student Life

Don has been at Western Oregon University since 1991.  He began his work at WOU as a Graduate Research Assistant.  In 1993 he was hired as Leadership Development Coordinator and in 2002 was selected to serve as the Director of the Student Enrichment Program. Don manages the project’s operation, budget, and staff and also meets regularly with applicants and participants in the project.  Don loves to travel, attend musical performances, go camping with his family and is very active in his church and the Mid-Willamette Valley community.
