WOU is affordable, accessible and inclusive to all students. Many of our students are the first in their families to attend a Graduate Program, and 77% of our entire population of students receive financial aid.


Being the oldest institution in the Oregon University system, WOU has continued to adapt and transform itself to respond to the needs of society and our changing world. With new programs such as the Master of Science in Management and Information Systems and Master of Science in Education: Information Technology, Western is dedicated to keeping graduates current with today’s technology.

Now it’s even more convenient for working professionals to earn a master’s degree in criminal justice. The online Master of Arts in Criminal Justice program combines a rigorous set of online core classes and specialized elective coursework in law enforcement, corrections, crime analysis, and community crime prevention.

Master of Arts in Interpreting Studies is a one of a kind program that WOU created in fall 2011. Students in this program provides interpreters and interpreter educators advanced scholarship that focuses on theoretical, practical, and teaching applications; thus, advancing the standards and leadership of the interpreting profession via research, rigorous study, and practice. This program is fully online with a two week summer institute.
