Purpose

The comprehensive exam questions are designed as prompts so that students can and do demonstrate their understanding of the Conceptual Framework and that they have met all of the proficiencies expected for a graduate with an MSEd degree from Western Oregon's College of Education

MSEd Proficiencies.

These are the core proficiencies developed and addressed by the MSEd program.

  1. MS Ed graduates will be professionals and leaders in their field.
  2. MS Ed graduates will be reflective practitioners.
  3. MS Ed graduates will be conversant in the literature and research of their discipline.
  4. MS Ed graduates will know how to connect with all of their students, whether they are children or adults.
  5. MS Ed graduates will be familiar with technology
  6. MSEd graduates will be able to synthesize the new knowledge they have gained from all the classes we offer in our programs, and will know how to apply that knowledge in meaningful ways to improve their practice, improve student learning, and advance the field of education.
