Extra Credit Assignment 1

1) Find a current article in the Oregonian, other newspaper or a magazine that includes a graph of statistical information (online or print is OK). Give a clear reference which includes name of the paper/magazine, the date and the page number or URL. Print or photocopy the article and include the statistical graph.

2) Describe the information the authors claim the graph shows.

3) Explain: Is the graph helpful for understanding the information in the article?

4) Compare the graph with other possible types of graphs, explain why you think the authors chose this particular graph to represent their data

5) Write three questions you could use with school children based on the information in the graph. Give expected answers.
