Back from vacation

Seaside was great. We weren't sure we'd get in on Monday because power was out along the coast from the storm. It was slick going over on 26 and you could see several spots that had a lot of falling trees. First thing that happens is we get to do the fire drill dance. This is the 3rd time I think. Anyway, Tuesday was great. We walked the beach and it was almost spring like. Next night we got the big storm with our chairs bouncing around the deck out on the 7th floor. Christmas was good and the load wasn't quite as bad as I thought back here at work.

Tuition promise (cont)

Set up 3 table tiggers (saradap and sarappd tables) into production because I found updating data on saradap and inserting a record into sgrchrt to be a big headache after the fact. So, 200701 UG residents are getting BAS07 rate and put in TP07 cohort.

Started coming up with some logic for program to deal with students when promise expires. Created a tablr prom_term to help calulate number of terms since admit decision. Transfer students are unique in that you have to figure out how many terms they're entitled to depending on the hours transfered. Once they go past the 4 year limit, they are supposed to go up 1 year at a time. 5 year students are still a question.

Fwpchkp

We've had an issue with AP checks and multiple invoices for a long time. Every once in awhile the listing of multiples repeats itself on the check printout. Never happens consistently. The check amount and totals are fine. We put the mod in to handle multiples so they'd print out so it's definately our problem. I don't know why I would have tried just using a distinct statement in the select. I have a feeling I did and it caused some other problem but I will soon know. We tried it out in wotr and it seemed ok so I'm putting into production.

Credit Card - Touchnet

Corvallis ETS has decided to go with a Touchnet Payment Gateway to replace the iPayment server thet are using now. They should have a test server set up some time in January. This is necessary because right now Banner only unofficially supports iPayment and doesn't even have documentation for it.

For us it means some changes to the student web credit card setup. Mostly this will be parameter settings and gtvsdax settings. There are some mods to packages that I'm not sure yet how they will need to be changed.

The admissions app will have some changes as well. Looking at the Banner baseline code for TPG, it looks like the returning authorization string is the same. Jpay still gets called so the building the url may not require much change either.
