The orca is most commonly known as the killer whale. Killer whales are very efficient predators and even attack huge blue whales. Their only enemy is human beings. The killer whale actually belongs to the dolphin family and is the largest type of dolphin.

Killer whales grow between 27-33 feet long and they can weigh up to 12,000 pounds.

Killer whales have a very diverse diet including ssquid, sharks, marine mammals, turtles, octopus, and even birds.

Killer whales live in small pods of 6-40 whales and are very social animals. The members of the pod hunt together in a very sophisticated manner, attacking even very large prey and then sharing it.

Killer whales live in waters ranging from tropical to arctic and both coastal and deep oceanic waters.

The sperm whale is a toothed whale that lives in pods. It has the largest brain of any animal in the world.

Sperm whales are the largest toothed whales. Adults grow to be about 50-60 feet long.

Sperm whales are meat-eaters and usually eat giant squid. They aslo eat fish and octopus. An adult sperm whale eats about a ton of food each day.

Sperm whales live in pods and have very strong bonds between pod members. Groups of females with their young are common. Sperm whales are the deepest diving whales and they dive to hunt giant squid that live at the bottom of the ocean.
