http://www.wou.edu/~soukupm/blogs/archives/2013/08/echeck_mod.html
I added some debugging code to the echeck real time payment code to troubleshoot a problem with the admissions payments. The real time payments didn't load into the table and only loaded from the reconciliation process. I found a problem in the code where the case statement was not handling normal payments (it was handling credit and cancel payments only). I fixed that problem so hopefully the payments will start loading through the real time payment code.]]>Bannersoukupm2013-08-02T10:18:26-08:00Degreeworks custom data
http://www.wou.edu/~soukupm/blogs/archives/2013/08/degreeworks_cus_1.html
I added a new custom data element to Degreeworks this week called CERT. It will pull the certificate code for all active students that have a certificate record in their curriculum. This data element uses a view name DW_CERT to pull the data into Degreeworks.]]>Bannersoukupm2013-08-02T10:10:45-08:00Tuition Equity and Scarf
http://www.wou.edu/~soukupm/blogs/archives/2013/07/tuition_equity.html
I made some changes to the scarf script this week to identify the tuition equity students in Banner and map these students with the scarf code TUEQ. These student have a rate code TEP13 or TEBAS and have an attribute in sgrsatt TUEQ.]]>Scarfsoukupm2013-07-26T10:39:51-08:00Echeck changes
http://www.wou.edu/~soukupm/blogs/archives/2013/07/echeck_changes.html
The echeck process was recently changed that allows Visa payments to be made. This change caused some problems with the reconciliation process because an extra entry is sent for the visa payment fees. I modified the script TZPECHK so that it handles these extra entries (for now it's just ignoring the lines and the cashiers are manually entering the fees into Banner). We are working with the bank to see if these extra fee lines can be removed from the file.]]>Bannersoukupm2013-07-26T10:29:27-08:00New job submission - SZRRTAC
http://www.wou.edu/~soukupm/blogs/archives/2013/07/new_job_submiss_26.html
I created a new job submission this week called SZRRTAC (Course Equivalents in Transfer Articulation for a College). This is a report similar to SWRRTAC but prints in pipe delimited format so it can easily be imported into Excel. ]]>Bannersoukupm2013-07-18T14:47:56-08:00Payroll load script pzprost.pl updated
http://www.wou.edu/~soukupm/blogs/archives/2013/07/payroll_load_sc.html
I updated the payroll roster load script pzprost.pl this week. It still had VMS directories in the script so I updated those to linux directory locations. I updated the readme.payroll_timesheets file under /san/home/wou/common to reflect these changes. ]]>Bannersoukupm2013-07-18T14:42:47-08:00Waitlist problem
http://www.wou.edu/~soukupm/blogs/archives/2013/07/waitlist_proble.html
Before the previous SOAR, the block courses were opened up while the waitlisting cron (SFRBWLP) was running. This caused quite a mess because it notified students of available seats when the seats were not truly available. To fix this problem, I deleted all of the records that were created that day from the table SFRWLNT. Then ran the job submission SFPWLRO which reassigned the students back to their original waitlist order.]]>Bannersoukupm2013-07-11T12:48:44-08:00Garden 2013

http://www.wou.edu/~soukupm/blogs/archives/2013/07/scarf_changes_-_1.html
In Banner, staff use generic SBGI codes (HS in Ohio, HS in California, etc) for high schools that the CEEB code is unknown. These codes need to be remapped to an appropriate code in Scarf. I built a hash table that remaps all of these to valid scarf codes.]]>Scarfsoukupm2013-07-03T14:25:03-08:00Java 7 issue with Banner INB
http://www.wou.edu/~soukupm/blogs/archives/2013/06/java_7_issue_wi.html
There seems to be a problem with java 7 and the login form for Banner INB. The tab key does not function correctly. When you type in your username and hit the tab key, it hightlights the username instead of tabbing to the password field. This problem doesn't affect single sign on since users don't need to put in a username and password.]]>Miscsoukupm2013-06-27T14:21:26-08:00Real time classes mod
http://www.wou.edu/~soukupm/blogs/archives/2013/06/real_time_class_2.html
I made a change to the real time classes procedure registration.admin.add_duplicates. It was setting the waitlist value to null for all duplicate classes even though a course may have available seats for waitlisting. This procedure now retains the waitlist flag.]]>Miscsoukupm2013-06-27T14:15:26-08:00SWBRDTC modification
http://www.wou.edu/~soukupm/blogs/archives/2013/06/swbrdtc_modific.html
I made a change to the program SWBRDTC because the parameters did not work in job submission. It appears that column aliases in sqlplus (on Linux) are case sensitive. I changed all of the aliases in this program to upper case. The banner team updated the parameter descriptions to reflect this change.]]>Bannersoukupm2013-06-21T14:05:11-08:00Health and Wellness program problem
http://www.wou.edu/~soukupm/blogs/archives/2013/06/health_and_well.html
This week, the Health and Wellness purchase program didn't allow students and staff to purchase a pass for summer term. It only allowed fall term, which should not be an option (its too early in the year to allow fall term purchases). I traced the problem to a table SZRHWCP, which contains the preferences for the wellness program. It had 2012 dates for the purchasing dates. I updated those dates and the program is functioning again and allows summer term purchases.]]>Miscsoukupm2013-06-21T13:57:25-08:00SZROFAX problems
http://www.wou.edu/~soukupm/blogs/archives/2013/06/szrofax_problem.html
We've been having problems with the program SZROFAX for financial aid. The upload into the OSAC website has been aborting. I contacted the tech support from OSAC and they suggested the problem was some records that had a null SSN. I changed the program SZROFAX so that it did not send these records but we still had problems uploading. I tried uploading the file that was created directly on the server but it still had errors. The OSAC site says that the file needs to be text format so I thought of saving the file in MSDOS format and that seemed to fix the error.]]>Miscsoukupm2013-06-13T14:35:35-08:00
