SPBPERS record cleanup
While I was running the conversion script, I ran into several problems that caused the script to abort. It seems that we have lots of bad data in our spbpers table (general person table). I've been working with the Banner Team to get these cleaned up.These are some of the problems I've ran into so far...
Invalid legacy code: spaces were inserted into spbpers_lgcy_code
Invalid religion code: spaces were inserted into spbpers_relg_code
Invalid deceased indicator: deceased date was entered but deceased indicator was not checked.
Invalid citizen code for employees: several records where spbpers_citz_code was null.
Invalid birth date: several records where the spbpers_birth date was prior to 1900.
Invalid pidms: several records where the person did not have a pidm in spriden.

New Race/Ethnicity
I updated the validation tables on test and production for the new race and ethnicity. After I run the conversion script, I'll work on the ethnicity survey. I'm hoping to have that up and running next week.

New job submission - SZRDEPM
I created a new job submission called SZRDEPM. This is an Mreport for the Division of Extended Programs. The output is the same as SZRMREP except it only displays statistics for DEP students.

Tips for fixing Banner INB on client computers
Every once in a while I'll get a call from a user that Banner INB does not run for them. It could be from a recent update installed on their computer, corrupted java cache, or java stops working completely. Here's a few things that seem to get it working again...
- Try deleting the java temporary internet files. Under control panel, go to java and click on the settings button under "temporary internet files". Click on "delete files". Try to run banner again and see if it works. If not...
- Reinstall Java. (get the auto-download version off the INB server, then upgrade to the current version) Make sure to uninstall all prior versions of java before doing this and a quick reboot.

Curriculum Update workaround
I have a new workaround for updating curriculum for the students that we had constraint errors on. When you update the curriculum, save the record with the major code only (dont add a minor code), then arrow down to the next record and add the minor code.

Banner Email Update
I updated the Banner email update process to the new ldap server this week. I have 3 database jobs running from 8am-9am (at 1/2hr increments) that update student's email addresses in Banner.

Curriculum error
I traced the curriculum error that we are getting in Banner 8.2 to the sgbstdn backfill process. It seems to be putting a curriculum rule for the student's minor code. I'm not sure why its doing this because no minor rules are defined for the curriculum we are trying to update. I came up with a workaround for the meantime (its setting the minor rule to null).
