Business Services is a unit within the Controller's Division that is responsible for providing a variety of business and office support duties for various divisions within the Chancellor's Office.

Business Services Responsibilities:

  • Performing all payroll activities for the Chancellor's Office
  • Managing HRIS information for all Chancellor's Office employee records
  • Serving as the business office for all departments in the Chancellor's Office, which includes the following activities:
    • promulgating fiscal policies and procedures
    • training and advising management and staff in fiscal policies and procedures
    • compliance testing, in the areas of:
      • procurement cards and ghost accounts
      • purchase orders
      • encumbrances
    • administering travel
    • coordinating year-end closing activities for all Chancellor's Office activities
  • Tax coordination - Oregon University System
    • 1099 - Payments to Vendors
    • 1042 - Payments to Nonresident Aliens
    • B Notice - Backup Withholding
  • Corporate card administration - Oregon University System
  • City-pair airfare coordination - Oregon University System
  • Providing support to Controller's Division in personnel-related matters:
    • recruitment
    • new employee orientation
    • terminating employee exit processes
    • leave collection and reporting
  • Managing (designing and maintaining) web sites:
    • FASOM
    • Chancellor's Office Business Policies and Procedures
    • Controller's Division
    • Year-end closing
  • Providing executive and administrative support for Controller's Division
  • Managing projects for Controller's Division.
