Hands on Experience

The Cephalonian Method (first used at Cardiff University) is a multimedia game show extravaganza in three Acts:

ACT I: Library YouTube

Students come in and are given color coded cards with questions.

A color coded wheel is spun and students shout out questions when their color comes up on the wheel.

The answer is given in YouTube style video responses.

At the end, students are also allowed to ask their own questions.

ACT II: Library Pictionary

Students are divided into teams of three or four and compete against each other in a Pictionary style game.

One member from the team is given a clue to something they learned in ACT I and must draw it for their team members.

If they guess correctly, they get points. If they don’t guess correctly, the other teams get a chance to steal the points.

How many points a team has will determine the order in which the teams can begin ACT III.

ACT III: Library Passport

The teams are given a passport with a list of places to visit in the library. At each stop, they will get a stamp in their passport.

The teams will leave in 45 second increments based on their points from the previous ACT.

The team that gets all their stamps first will win.
