Home for the Holidays

I enjoyed my trip home for the most part but it is really good to be back on campus. I had a 6 day old nephew to come home to and that made going home even better. However, going home was not all fun and games. I was so busy this weekend; I felt like I didn't even have time to breathe. Also at night my nephew kept the whole house awake; that is something I'm not use to. After a couple days of running all day and being up all night, I was exhausted and ready to come back "home." I didn't have too much trouble with the issues in the article. Both my parents respect my space and independance. On spare of the moment I went with my cousin to get a tatoo. My parents were fine with letting me go with her as long as I had my phone with me. My dad also had me promise not to spontaniously get a tatoo because it is permanent and if I didn't think about it I might regret it. I had no problem with agreeing to that because to some degree I agree. My advice to next year freshman on this matter is to keep the line of communication open with your parents.

Budget

So far this year, I have not had any major expenses besides text books. I love buying gifts for people, which has been a problem for me. Whenever I go into the bookstore I always find something new. Other and buying gifts, I have been pretty good about sticking to a budget. I often get bored in my dorm room and wish I had extra money to spend on new movies and DVDs to watch and listen to. I do not tend to talk to my dorm mates about how they budget money, some people might consider it rude, but I have noticed I am privileged by the income I receive. Most of my dorm mates budget very well, but they do wish for a little more as I'm sure we all do. For right now I am just grateful for what I have.
