Cougar Migration

First off let me say sorry about this morning's mishaps.

Part of the migration is to move the servers into a new naming service; which gives UCS lot's more flexibility on the server, more security features, and faster performance. Nearly all of the production servers on the campus network have been moved into this new naming service with zero issues. I came in last night at 12:00am to do the move. It appeared to be successful. I monitored it all night, with everything looking good. There however was a network quirk, which caused the server to become nearly unusable, and of course this issue did not come up until 8:05am this morning. At 8:10am this morning I re-booted the server. It took about 20mins to come back up; and once it did all services were active.

I apologize for any issues this may have caused.

This move into a new naming service is a neccessity, and we will be going through the process ( taking into account what we learned last night ) within the next 2 weeks. Again we'll be working off hours to minimize any campuswide downtime.

Thanks again for your patience.
