Web site conversion project

On Wednesday, Oct. 4, Bryan and I used our development time to plan the conversion of the LMS web site to the new campus design.

Some of the work has been done for us by UCS, in terms of page creation and copying content over to the new .php pages. However, there is still lots to be done on our large site. We created a spreadsheet to serve as a checklist. Each top-level directory has a sheet. For each individual page, we'll check off

  • creating the .php file
  • copying the content into it
  • updating LMS links within the page to .php
  • checking the conversion status of other campus pages the page links to
  • applying styles
  • signing off as complete.
Page content may also be updated in the process, or occasionally a page or directory may not be deleted.

Deadline is December break.
