Configuration of non-supported e-mail applications

How to configure a non-supported e-mail client at home

The type of incoming server --> imap
The incoming server name
If you have been migrated --> sundown.wou.edu
Not yet migrated --> mail.wou.edu

The outgoing server name or smtp server will be dependent upon
who your ISP is.
Mine is --> smtp.peoplepc.com
If you don’t know your outgoing server name, your provider will
be able to give you this information.

The incoming server user name --> (same as your e-mail userid
when you login at work)

The outgoing server user name --> (not required by my ISP)
try leaving this blank if you don’t know if it is required.
If you can’t send outbound e-mails contact your ISP for the
appropriate userid and password for outgoing mail username
and password.

You will only be able to use secure userid and password
authentication with Communication Express. Any other e-mail
application will pass your userid and password as clear text
over the internet.

An example of how to setup an RSS feed with Mozilla Thunderbird

When it ask for the feed URL, an example that works would be:
http://www.wou.edu/~kernanb/blogs/index.xml or
http://www.wou.edu/~kernanb/blogs/index.rdf or
http://www.wou.edu/~kernanb/blogs/atom.xml

Just replace kernanb with your blog name
