The first of March, 2005 the new server room was completed. It includes redundant power including UPS and backup diesel generator, air conditioning and humidifiers. Included in this room is a Sun E6900 configured with two domains, sundown and cougar. A 7.5 terabyte Sun StorEdge 9980 SAN is attached to the E6900. Applications installed on sundown and cougar include Samba (Windows file services), WebCT, Darwin streaming media server, web, e-mail, calendar, ldap, identity, application and portal servers, forums server, wiki server, blog server and the Oracle database server.
Over the next several months UCS will be migrating your data from the old hardware/software platform to the new. About 70 users have been migrated to date. The procedure is becoming nearly painless. To schedule your migration, please fill out the on-line migration form.
Sundown and Cougar are also running the TWiki server and the blog server.
