I am firstly, secondly and thirdly concerned

with the materials and tools used by an artist.

Whether the work is a depiction of a vase of flowers, a nude or a sound, my intention is to

use the subject as a medium for what happens

with the materials.

Line, shape, texture and colour are all vitally important in a drawing or painting.

Intent, together with spontaneity, and

translated through the artist's mark or

brushstroke, are what make a work of art.
