Attendance & Participation

Neither attendance nor participation is a required element of the class, but both can help your grade. At the very least, regular participation and attendance will earn you some benefit of the doubt on your grade at the end of the term. That is, if you participate and attend class on a consistent basis, and you are close to or on the border between two grades, you will get bumped to the higher grade. In exceptional cases, attendance and participation may mean as much as an additional 2-3 points at the end of term. Please note that certain assignments require attendance.
