Learning Outcomes: This course focuses on all three of the learning outcomes for geography at Western Oregon, that students will:

• Understand the role of geography in society.
• Develop a clear understanding of the nature and significance of human-environment relations.
• Become conversant in geographic thought and practice.

More particularly, students will:

• Demonstrate an academic perspective on landscape and place.
• Demonstrate a basic understanding of how to conduct cultural geographic research on landscape and place.
• Think and write critically and geographically about the world.
