This is the first term of a survey of British literature; the fall quarter covers from the earliest Old English texts through the Middle Ages and Renaissance, finishing just before the English Civil War in the 17th century. The survey moves quickly and includes poetry, drama, and prose, highlighting the classic texts from this period of British history.
