Things a librarian gets excited about...
- ... may be kind of boring to others, but, I thought I'd share the following with the world:
- Of these, 21,142 are available either freely online or through aggregator databases (meaning that we cannot guarantee continued access.
- Of the remaining:
- 800 are print subscriptions which can be found in the library
- 1458 are electronic subscriptions to journals. Some of these are individual titles, whilte others are part of packages (i.e. Springer, Sciencedirect, PsychArticles, and the American Chemical Society journals). These are subscriptions that, even if we canceled them tomorrow, we would still have permanent access to the materials we have already received.
- THe last 644 are our JSTOR titles, which are titles that have a "rolling wall". This means that while we permanently own the content of the journals we have to wait a few years to gain access to the content (in most cases 3-5).
As of today, WOU has access to 23,464 journals.
