More Journal stats (doesn't that make your heart beat a little faster?)
Since I'm looking at stats these days, I thought I'd post for anyone who's interested. In 2006, our online journals through Springer have had full text articles downloaded 694 times. Of these downloads, only 55 articles were from journals that we subscribed to before purchasing the Springer package last year. If you equate that to interlibrary loan charges that's $19,170! Now, I know is not a direct comparison, as many people who would open a full text article would not request an interlibrary loan, but it is still pretty impressive, if even half of those would have resulted in a request.
- The top 10 most used titles were:
- Neophilologus
- Sex Roles
- Journal of Youth and Adolescence
- Inventiones Mathematicae
- Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders
- Colloid & Polymer Science
- Journal of Chemical Ecology
- Studies in Philosophy and Education
- Archives of Sexual Behavior
- Human Ecology
Of these, we'd previously subscribed to 1/2 (of which Neophilologus was not one).
