Dr. Fung’s Scholarly Interests

My primary interest lies in the solid mathematical preparation of K-8 teachers. I am also very interested in improving the preparation of 9-12 mathematics teachers.

I work at developing effective approaches to cooperative and experiential learning, appropriate integration of technology, and modeling dynamic and informative assessment techniques.

My secondary interest lies in the representation theory of Lie groups, a fascinating amalgam of algebra, geometry, analysis, and number theory.

I also enjoy reading expository mathematics.
