Highest Point: Australia is the flattest continent, and the highest point is only 7, 313ft. (Mount Kosciuszko).

Economy: Australia produces the most coal in the world; it also has iron ore, copper, tin, gold, silver, uranium, nickel, mineral sands, lead, zinc, diamonds, natural gas and petroleum.

Climate: Australia is usually arid to semiarid. which means fairly dry. The land is temperate (wet and rainy) in the South and in the Eastern part. The northern part of Australia is tropical. Most of Australia is a low plateau filled with desert lands. In the SouthEast, the continent ha fertile plains. Because of the large desert area where very few people live, Australia is known as the Outback. Australia has the most reliable wind in the world and has one of the largest coral reefs just off its coast.

Animals: Australia has many animals that are only found in Australia like the kangaroo, the koala bear, the tasmanian devil, the emu and kookaburra, the platypus and the dingo (which is like a coyote). They also have the largest number of reptiles in the world, including saltwater and freshwater crocodile and the most number of venemous snakes. This diverse continent is also filled with birds of many kinds and coral reef fish.

Language: 79.1% of the people in Australia speak English, but it is different from both British and American English. Although it is most related to British English, it has some words that are only used in Australia and a very distnct accent. 2% speal Chinese, 1.9% Italian and 11% speak other languages. Some native people still live there and speak their native languages.

Food: Australia has one of the most diverse menus in the world. There food ranges f rom meat pies, Vegemite sandwiches and suasage rolls to kangaroo fillet with beetroot greens and roasted onions. The people love to eat fresh seafood, local fruits, beef and lamb. They also have many type of cheeses. One of their native foods is known as the "bush tucker", which is made of flour and water cooked over campfire coals served with a special tea and local animals' meat. Much of their food comes from around the world with their many immigrants.

People: Most of the people live in the SouthEastern coasts of Australia, where the weather and land is best.

92% of the people are white, and 7% are of Asian descent. The other 1 percent is made of aobrigines (native people groupss) and other etihnicities.

Most of the people are Catholic (26%) or Protestant Christian (22%). There are also some Buddhists, Muslims and people who remain unspecified or claim no religion.
