About This Collection: Although aimed at supporting undergraduate research in the discovery of red photosynthetic thermophiles from Yellowstone National Park, the Red Layer Microbial Observatory research grant also supports curriculum development and implementation for undergraduate microbiology laboratory coursework that equally emphasize culture-dependent and culture-independent methods. A database of representative images from these labs is located here and will be maintained for general use.
