Water Collection Apparatus

Methods:  The following readings were taken at collection site:

pH paper (dip into liter container and remove immediately to read):  6.5-7.0

Digital thermometer (measured at the site of water collection): 83.3 ºC

Water Chemistry Methods & Results:

Methods:  2 L of water were collected to be used for water chemistry.  For each test, the colorimeter was zeroed using a filled 10ml sample cell.  For each test, the appropriate program was selected, and corresponding filled AccuVac inserted and read.

*Always wipe glass containers prior to inserting into Colormeter

Water Filtering

Exactly like week one procedures, we filtered 8 liters per site, each filter paper inserted into a conical, labeled and then placed on dry ice.

On this day, Jen and I filtered water for Fairy and Firehole

Once we returned to lab, the filtrate would be transferred into solution and viewed for filaments.
