Text: Class notes and copies of the necessary material.

Who: This class is intended for students who are (CS) mathematics major/minor.

Goal: We review main topics in logic & proof techniques and learn some new material, sets and set operations, cardinality, functions, and induction. We will learn main counting methods such as permutations and combinations. We also learn topics such as inclusion/exclusion principles and Pigeonhole principle and related applications.

Homework: Homework will be assigned periodically.

Midterm Exams: There will be two in class midterm exams, Midterm I on April 22 and Midterm II on May 20. There is no make-up for missed midterm and homework.

Final exam: A comprehensive final exam will be given on Friday the 10th of June at 12:00. The final is given in our classroom and it is required for all students. There is no early final exam.

Grading:
     Homework        25%
     Midterms           50% (two at 25% each)
     Final                 25%

Grades will be assigned (roughly) according to the following scale ("+" and "-" will be determined later): A   90-100%;   B   80-89%;    C   70-79%;  D   60-69%;   F   30-59%
