Course Prerequisite: Mth 254 with a grade of “C-” or higher or Concurrent enrollment in Mth 254.

Course Objectives: Selected topics from chapters 1 through 4.

Homework, Quizzes, and labs:  Homework problems will be assigned more or less at each class period. individually work on these problems on a daily basis. If you have difficulty with one problem, feel free to consult with your classmates or me. We will also discuss them in class as needed. Homework will be collected every Wednesday. We will have short quizzes on main definitions and theorems. The quizzes will be announced at least one scheduled class day earlier. There will be several labs. I will give you more information as we progress through the term.

Midterm Exams: There will be two in class midterm exams, Midterm I on October 21 and Midterm II on November 18.

Final exam: I will not be here during our scheduled final exam on Friday the 11th of December. We will find an alternative time and day during the finals' week instead. The final is required for all students.

There is no make-up for missed homework, labs, or midterms.

Grading:
     Homework        25%
     Lab                   5%
     Quizzes             5%
     Midterms           40% (two at 20% each)
     Final                  25%

Grades will be assigned according to the following scale:
             A   90-100%
             B   80-89%
             C   70-79%
             D   60-69%
             F   30-59%

• attend every class and take notes;
• study and do written homework daily;
• read the current textbook section before/after each class discussion/lecture;
• ask questions about concepts, techniques or ambiguities as soon as possible;
• use the support available: me, the Tutoring Center, your classmates;
  plan to spend 10 or more hours per week outside of class studying/ reading/thinking/speaking vector calculus!
