Text: Fundamentals of Differential Equations, by Naglee, Saff & Snider, seventh edition.
Prerequisite: MTH
253 or MTH 254 with grade of C- or better.
Goal: We will learn how to solve the first, second, linear and nonlinear differential equations. These methods are used in solving real world application problems.
Homework: A portion of the homework problems are assigned using Web Assign. The course ID is : wou 2275 6607. You need to purchase an access key to have access to these problems. If you are unfamiliar with Web Assign, you may consult with me or your classmates who know Web Assign well. In addition to Web Assign assignments, we have quizzes on similar type of problems as the ones on Web Assign. I will also assign a few problem sets throughout the term.
Midterm Exams: There will be two in class exams on February 10 and March 16.
There is no make-up for a missed homework or midterms.
Nonacademic electronic devices and tardiness policies: You are not allowed to use any nonacademic electronic devices (Ipods, Ipads, MP3 players, cell phones, etc.) during the class time. If you bring your cell phone into the class, you MUST turn it off. If you need to have your cell phone on, you need to talk to me prior to class. If you are consistently late to class (3 minutes or more), I will ask you not to attend the class until you resolve your time conflict.
