Course Assignments and Due Dates

Day 1 Assignment
Before class Wed. 10/1
Write a draft letter to each buddy (directions, sample letter)
Before class Fri. 10/3
Revise your buddy letter to what you consider a final draft.
Saturday 10/4 midnight

Keep an eye on your email for comments on your letters from me or my assistant Sally.

•  Promptly address comments. If you wait more than a day to resolve a comment you will be marked down.

•  Once you have adequately addressed a comment click "resolve".

•  If you disagree with a comment, click on the comment and a reply box will appear below. Explain your disagreement and then click “reply”.

•  Once your comments have all been resolved. I (or Sally) will reread your letter. If we feel your letter still needs work we will write more comments and we repeat this process.

•  When I (or Sally) feel your letter is done we will comment "Ready to print". This means you are done. You will print your letter and bring it to class on MONDAY.

If you do not get comments right away, please be patient – we have over 30 to do.

Using the official state scoring guide score the work of your buddy(s) and your partners' buddy(s) (here). Circle the scores on the page and bring them along with your copy of the scoring guide to class on Wednesday for the scoring workshop.

You have been assigned a new WOU partner.

Write your buddy(s) letters using the response guidelines. The letters should always be done in our class google drive. There is a template in the Jewewl Problem/ Letters subfolder. Remember to right click and copy, then right click and rename the template (copy letters, do not download and upload them)

Score both your buddy(s) work and your (new) WOU Partner buddy(s) work using a scoring sheet and following the directions in the scoring guide directions

Sally or I will now be looking at your final drafts and perhaps add more comments. Ideally they will be ready and you will get a "ready to print" comment.

•  If you do get and additional comment, promptly address comments. If you wait more than a day to resolve a comment you will be marked down.

Do each problem two ways:

•  Using an organized guess and check table. (Like in activty 4)

•  Using algebra. It should be clear how your algebraic equation relates to your table. (Like in activity 5)
