Watkins comes to Creswell from the Salem-Keizer School District, where he currently serves as a district-level administrator supporting instructional services and career technical education programs, Hamilton said.
Before joining the Instructional Services Department, Watkins spent 11 years as a high school assistant principal, curriculum assistant, athletic director and member of the Oregon Athletic Directors Executive Board. He also spent five years as a middle school teacher.
“Watkins is an instructional leader with a great vision for preparing students for success, and he has a clear passion for supporting students, staff and our Creswell community,” Hamilton said.
Watkins earned his bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education/Physical Education and Health from Western Oregon University in 2001 and his Master’s in Educational Administration from Portland State University in 2005.
Watkins is a northwest native, originally from Monmouth, Ore. He and his wife have six children – two girls and four boys.
“Mr. Watkins is a welcome addition to Creswell High School and Creswell School District,” Hamilton said. “ As time permits, Mr. Watkins will visit the school between now and the end of the school year.”
