Preview: WOU Music Department Concerts

The WOU Music Department will be hosting twelve concerts in the next few weeks, so be sure to make room in your schedule to sit back, relax, and enjoy some great music! All concerts begin at 7:30 pm* and are held on campus in either Smith Recital Hall or in Rice Auditorium.

For orchestral music… Listen to the Chamber Ensembles, Western Oregon Symphony & Percussion Ensemble, and the Western Oregon Winds.

For Brazilian music… Check out Orquestra Brasil as they perform “Mostly Samba.”

To rock n’ roll… Head-bang with the WOU Guitar Ensemble.

Featuring students… Attend the Student Recital and the junior and senior recitals of vocalists Hannah Hazelwood and Megan Johnson.

For a cappella… Be wowed by Suspended – featuring 15 Miles West.

For vocal music… Sing along to “Songs of the Spirit” with the WOU Concert Choir & Chamber Singers and groove to the Western Hemisphere Voices as they go “Electro Swingin.'”

To hear a big band… Go back in time with the Western Hemisphere Orchestra as they perform “The Music of Duke Ellington.”

* Except for the Student Recital (11:00 am) and the Western Oregon Symphony (7:00 pm)
