  • Ashley takes a Chemistry exam during her saturday class. Ashley is a full-time student taking up to 17 hours and working on campus up to 20 hours a week. "the hardest part about being a parent and going to school is time management," Ashley said, "but I have to tell myself that it'll be worth it once I'm able to get out and make enough money to send my kids to school.


Ashley Woods is a 27 year old nursing student at Western Kentucky University balancing starting a family and achieving her goals.
As a non-traditional student Woods has struggled with managing her time to care for her young children and take classes. 
"Sometimes you'll feel like you're missing out on the whole college experience," Woods said,"nobody's going to ask a 27 year old with two kids to be in a sorority."
