WHAT IS THE TYPICAL ATTIRE FOR AUDIENCE AT VALLEY SHAKESPEARE COMPANY?
Our shows are outdoor, open-air summer shows. Most visitors to VSC dress in casual summer clothing. It is usually hot when the show begins but gets cooler by the end of the show. We recommend you bring blankets and/or warmer coats for the latter part of the evening. And if it’s hot, bring water to stay hydrated. VSC also will have a concession stand for water and other refreshments.
CAN I RESERVE SEATS?
VSC features free, first-come-first-served lawn seating and you can come early and set your chairs and blankets as early as 6pm each night. We encourage a donation of $12 a person for each show and will pass a basket at intermission. There are also donation boxes in the lobby near the concession stand.
Audiences should bring blankets or low-backed lawn chairs to the show. If you do not bring a chair, VSC has a limited number to provide and will be able to seat you at the back of the house. All seats on the lawn have clear sight lines IF THEY ARE WITHIN THE FLAGGED AREAS.
DO YOU ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS AT THE CONCESSION STAND?
We accept cash and checks at the concessions area.
DOES VSC HAVE PARKING NEARBY?
Free parking is available in the back parking lot of Rice Auditorium and all around the theatre facility in and around the corner of Knox and Powell Streets.
Please give yourself plenty of time to find parking and seats prior to the show
IS VALLEY SHAKESPEARE COMPANY WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?
VSC shows and Rice Auditorium are accessible via ramps and level seating areas at the back of the house. If you require accessible seating, please see an usher upon your arrival so we can assist with seating. We do offer handicap parking in the Rice Auditorium parking lot that provides ramping to the Leinwand outdoor stage. If you need assistance with parking or building access, please email our office at killipl@wou.edu so that we may assist you.
CAN I BRING FOOD AND DRINK INTO THE SHOW WITH ME?
Yes. We invite you to bring their own food, drink, snacks or pack a picnic basket to VSC shows. Audiences often come early and find a shaded area in the audience and have a picnic dinner. Non-Alcoholic beverage service is offered in our main lobby prior to each performance and during intermission.
CAN I BRING MY DOG?
Yes. Any dogs must stay on leash throughout their time on campus and must not disturb any audience members. Any pet waste should be picked up by the owner promptly.
