Student Printer Setup Instructions on Personal Computers
These instructions are intended for those who have brought a computer from off campus and wish to use a campus printer.
In order to print to student printers on campus you will have to connect to the campus network. If you haven't purchased wireless service for campus, you will need to do so. You can purchase wireless from your online student account. You will also need to know the network designation or "name" of the printer you wish to use; usually that can be found on a label attached to the printer.
University Computing services is located in the southeast branch of ITC in room 009. Please bring your computer with you. We will need your name and student ID number (or V-number), and we will also need to examine your machine to find its physical network address.
Once you have registered your machine you will be able to add the printer you want. Go to Start, Run and type in \\radar (Make sure to use backslashes, usually found on the key above the Enter Key, rather than normal slashes, generally found on the same key as the question mark.)

You will be asked to enter your network login at this point. At "User name", type in mash\"your login name here", where your login name is the same login you use to access the network on campus. For example, if your user name is "jdoe", type "mash\jdoe". (Again, note that this is a backslash, not a normal slash.) The password will also be the same as your normal login password.

A window will open listing all of the printers on campus available for your use. This is the point at which you
will have to know the name of the printer you wish to access. Double-click on the printer you wish to use.

A window should pop up, displaying the properties of the printer you have just added.

You have now successfully set up access to a printer on campus.
