To provide safe, quality community living environments with emphasis on education, service to the community, and respect for diversity.

Freshman Live-In Requirement

First year students who enroll at WOU within one year of high school graduation regardless of class standing must live on campus for the full academic year (Fall, Winter and Spring terms). Exceptions to this requirement may be requested by petition. Exceptions that are generally approved are as follows:

  • Living at Home with Parents, within a 30 mile radius of WOU.
  • Having a Dependent that is living with you.
  • Marriage.

Other exceptions will be evaluated, but are generally not approved. If waiver of the live-in requirement is approved a $5.00/day cancellation fee for each day remaining in the contract will be applied to the student's account.

Re-Contracting for On Campus Housing

The process for our students who are currently living on-campus to Re-Contract with us for the next Academic Year (2008-2009) is done on-line and begins in April 2008. Information has been mailed to students at their RSC boxes on campus. For more detailed information please click the link above.

IF you are a current Spring 2008 resident, and you did not Re-Contract with us for next year and would like to at this point, READ ON!

The portal is still open and if you wish to Re-Contract, you still may do so. Please note: Students who NOW complete the process will no longer receive a free parking credit on their accounts for next year. Log on to the portal (http://www.wou.edu/wouportal/) and select the room or apartment from the remaining choices. NOTE: If you previously signed up as "Undecided" and now wish to select a specific room, you will need to contact the Office of University Residences and Campus Dining.
