The RHA First-Year Liaison at Western Oregon University

WHAT is a First-Year Liaison and what do they do?

The Residence Hall Association created the First-Year Liaison position to help amplify the voice of the first-year students living on campus at Western Oregon University. As a First-Year Liaison leader, you will work closely with other residence hall leaders to plan events designed to create community amongst your first-year peers and the residential community at large.

Qualifications of a First-Year Liaison

  • The individual selected to serve as the RHA First-Year Liaison will be a traditional first year student, (within one year of graduation from high school) who will live on-campus in one of our First Year residence halls, Heritage, Landers, Barnum or Ackerman Hall.

  • In addition, the First-Year Liaison will:

    • Maintain Good Academic Standing while attending Western Oregon University
    • Demonstrate Strong High School Leadership Experience
    • Have no continuing record of disciplinary action
    • Follow guidelines established by the University
    • Adhere to the Accountability Contract of RHA
