Upcoming Activities & Financial Aid Information
Upcoming Activities
Financial aid priority deadline: As soon as possible after January 1 (THIS IS NEW) In order to be considered for the maximum number of aid programs, your student’s Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be received at the Federal Processing Center as soon as possible after you receive your information. Getting it in early is important and best no later than a March 1st priority receipt date.
Your student is encouraged to apply for aid even if they miss the priority deadline. However, after the March 1 priority date Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG), Federal Perkins Loans, Federal Work Study (FWS), Oregon Opportunity Grants and Western Fee Remission Funds may not be available to them.
Helpful Hint: If your student does their FAFSA on the Web they can save time! www.fafsa.ed.gov
Students wishing to apply for scholarships should complete the General Scholarship and Award Application. This one application covers 100 different scholarship programs, including those funded by the WOU Foundation. The link for continuing students can be found HERE.
Students from diverse backgrounds, especially those traditionally under-represented in higher education may also wish to complete the Diversity Commitment Scholarship Application. The web page for information can be found by clicking HERE.
