Scholarships
Diversity Commitment Scholarship At Western Oregon University, we believe a diverse campus community will improve the overall quality of education our students receive by offering a mix of experiences, opinions and viewpoints. We are committed to recognizing and supporting outstanding students from diverse cultural, educational and economic backgrounds and with unique talents, interests and life experiences.
In order to be considered for this award,
you must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Awarded to high school seniors and transfer students
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- New Freshmen Only: Meet freshmen admission requirements
- Transfer Only: Complete a minimum of 24 transferable credits and meet transfer admission requirements
- Scholarships are $3,500 per year
- Renewable for up to four years for new freshmen and up to two years for transfer students
Continuing WOU students are not eligible to apply for this scholarship. Continuing WOU students should apply for scholarships using the WOU General Scholarship Application available at www.wou.edu/scholarships.

Hispanic College Fund

Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be Hispanic or of Hispanic descent
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing in the United States or Puerto Rico
- Must be studying at an accredited university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for theupcoming academic year
- Must be (or plan to be) enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student for the upcoming academic year
- Must have earned and maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average of no less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Student must demonstrate financial need
Google Scholarship Program

The Google Scholarship Program offers funds to students studying computer science or computer engineering who are juniors or seniors in college or pursuing a Master's or PhD. Selected scholars will be invited to an all-expenses paid trip to the Google Headquarters in California in January 2008.

Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be Hispanic or of Hispanic background

- Must demonstrate financial need
- Must be a junior or senior undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in computer science or computer engineering for the 2009-2010 academic year
Sodexho Scholarship Program

HSF/McNamara Family Creative Arts Project Grant

Amount of Each Scholarship: $5,000 to $20,000.
This program will provide financial resources to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled full-time in a creative arts related field -media, film, performing arts, communications, writing, and others- to assist them in beginning and completing an art project.
Eligibility Requirements
- Be of Hispanic heritage
- Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired)
- Be an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled full-time in a degree-seeking program at a U.S. accredited college or university in the U.S., Puerto Rico, or U.S. Virgin Islands the upcoming academic year
- Be majoring in the arts, including but not limited to media, film, performing arts, communications or writing
- Have earned at least 12 undergraduate units or credits in a U.S. accredited college or university
- Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent)

Purpose: To provide financial support to a deserving student with a history of migrating for employment in agriculture who has successfully completed at least one year of college. This support will cover expenses beyond that which the youth receives through federal, state and other scholarship assistance. The scholarship is designed to assist the youth in obtaining a baccalaureate degree without being encumbered with substantial debt.

Undergraduate (current freshmen, sophomores, juniors and non-graduating seniors ONLY!) applicants meeting the following criteria and completing the application will be considered for THE LAGRANT FOUNDATION (TLF) scholarship:
