Making College Happen
This program will provide high school seniors (who are underrepresented, first generation and/or low-income) with the opportunity to learn about the “college process” at Western Oregon University. Workshops topics include: Academic Prep, Campus Tour, Student Panel, Financial Aid, Career Awareness, a Student Services Fair and On-site Admissions.

Cesar E. Chavez Leadership Conference
This program is sponsored by CECLC, Inc and is hosted on the Western Oregon University campus.
Purpsose: To instill in our Latino youth the value of education; which nurtures mind, body and spirit in order to develop a social consciousness that empowers them as leaders for social justice and civic responsibility in the greater community.

OMSLI (Oregon Migrant Student Leadership Institute)
The Oregon Department of Education's Migrant Education Program, Willamette Education Service District, and the Oregon Migrant Education Service Center (OMESC) sponsors a two-week institute that will host 92 students that were selected through and application process in Oregon's 18 local migrant education projects funded through the Oregon Department of Education's Title 1-C Office. Those selected will be preparing to enter the 10th, 11th, and 12th grade. During the past fifteen years, the institute has been conducted on one of Oregon's college campuses during the summer weeks of July.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration
This annual week-long event celebrates the legacy of Dr. King and promotes diversity by engaging our community in topics such as social justice, nonviolent social change, and equality for all. Events range from our annual Commemorative Dinner to the Nonviolence/Social Justice Student Essay Competition.
