MSU Executive Board 2010-2011
Louie Arce Activities Director I grew up in the small town of Mt. Angel OR. As a kid I like to walk to the Abby, ride my bike and play on the railroad tracks. I am a senior this year at WOU. I am a Communication Major and an ASL Minor. I am very involved on campus because I wanted to feel like I am a part of my college experience. When I graduate I hope to have a job that makes money (laughing) but all joking aside I really want to make money. I hope to be able to reach out to people with my skills and teach them something new about themselves they never knew, so I hope there's a job that pays out there for what I am looking for??? I like the color Green because it is calming and natural to me. I have a huge bed that I take up and I don't like to share it! Well, sometimes. If I could bring back a mythical creature it would have to be Dragons! They are freakin awesome! |

My goal and passion in life is to help others and make a difference in their lives. My favorite color is pink. I love it! I like to read, hang out with friends, run, and love to shop! |

My major is Community Health Education with a Spanish minor I am involved with Alternative Break, MSU, the MCR program, Upward Bound, and the Kappa Delta Chi Sorority, Inc. At the end of the day, my goal is to make a positive influence in the lives of others. My favorite color is Pink!!!! If I could pick one imaginary animal to be real, I would pick a unicorn, because they are beautiful. As a kid I enjoyed riding bikes, jump roping, and playing with barbies. |

Briana Navarrete Freshmen Advocate I grew up in a farm out in the country in Hermiston, Oregon. This is my second year at Western. I am involved in MSU, Abby’s House, and am an Upward Bound tutor. I am undecided about my major and minor. I am still an exploratory student, because it is not easy to just make up your mind about what you want to do for the rest of your life. I am taking a variety of classes to have new experiences and figure out what I want to do after I graduate from college. My hobbies include: shopping, horseback riding, and raising goats, sheep, and cows. My favorite colors are turquoise and red. I am a very happy person who loves to smile! Upon graduation, I hope to work in a field that would allow me to go back to Hermiston and help my family out. |

Luanne Carrillo Fundraising Coordinator I was born in Dallas, OR so, Dallas, Independence, and Monmouth are my hometowns. I am currently in my 4th year at WOU and planning on staying a 5th year. I am studying a Double Degree in Community Health and Spanish with a Minor in Sociology: Community Service. Besides a student, I am also a student worker for two of my favorite offices! I am the Multicultural Representative Co-Coordinator at Multicultural Student Services & Programs office, and Volunteer Programs Assistant with Service Learning Career Development office. My volunteer involvement consists of; I am Fundraising Coordinator for MSU, Plus Team Leader, Member of Student Conduct Committee, and a member of KDChi which is a new and the first sorority on campus. Also, I have been involved in many other programs and organizations, so if you have a question about resource, I can probably answer it. My favorite color has always been Blue. But I go through different phases of blue, so at the moment my favorite color is Teal. |

Kevin Alejandrez Assistant Fundraiser Coordinator I was born in Fresno CA but I grew up in Chowchilla CA and Independence OR. As a kid I always enjoyed playing outside and helping my dad feed our farm animals. I'm a freshman and aside from MSU, I am also looking to join an intramural sport, TA, Upward Bound and anything else that may sound interesting. As far as my major goes, I'm absolutely clueless. I still don't know what I want to do after I graduate college. I came into Western thinking I was going to transfer as soon as possible but I'm not in a rush to leave anymore. I'm just having fun, focusing on school and going with whatever comes my way. I like a lot of colors. For me, most things just depend on the day; my favorite color does too. As a kid, I use to curl up into a little ball and sleep on the right side looking left but now I just sleep all over the bed. It would be really cool if Griffons were real. Phoenix is a cool name but Griffons are better. They're lions and they get to fly; it doesn't get much better than that. |

Adaleni Lopez Historian I grew up in a small town of Mt. Angel, Oregon. My hobbies are baking, gardening, reading and bike riding. I am a sophomore and I am involved in the MCR mentor program, MSU Exec board, and a Upward Bound tutor. After college I want to travel and be involved in my community. I wish to help non-profit organizations and people in need. I would like to eventually own my own business one day. My favorite color is Pink and I love sleeping in the middle of my bed. If I could bring back an imaginary creature it would be fairies. They are so small and can fly were ever they would like. They are just happy creatures to me. I wouldn’t mind seeing farires flying around during the day time. |

Mayra Perez Public Relations I grew up in Salem, Oregon. I am a senior at WOU working towards my Communication Studies major with a Spanish minor. I am an Exec Board member for MSU as well as one of the leaders for the Alternative Break Group, and I am a member of Kappa Delta Chi Sorority, Inc. I don’t have my mind set to one thing that I might want to do after WOU; I would like to explore my options by applying to service trips abroad, as well as applying to different graduate programs. One of the things that I would like to do with my degree after WOU would be to work as an advisor for students at a higher education institution. If I could have one magical creature be real, I would like unicorns to be real. I imagine them being very caring, magical and friendly. They would make the world a better place by sharing their love and protecting others. |

Anna Hernandez-Hunter Advisor I grew up in Raisin City, California. My younger siblings were born when I was between the ages of 7-9, and it became my responsibility to care for them when the rest of my family went to work, so I never had much time for hobbies. However, I have always loved to read and growing up read anything I could get my hands on! My favorite author when I was in grade school was Judy Blume. I attend Western Oregon University from 91-95 and graduated with a BA in Secondary Education (my focus area: Spanish). I started working in the Multicultural Student Services & Programs Office during finals week of my last term as a student. I was initially hired as the MSSP Advisor and a year later had the opportunity to apply for the Director position. The rest, as they say, is history! |
