Student Health & Counseling Center

Meet Our Staff

The Student Health and Counseling Center employs physicians, mid-level practitioners (Physicians Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, etc.), medical support staff, licensed or certified mental health counselors, wellness educators and a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.

Started at SHCC:       2004
Degrees Ph.D. in Human Development & Family Studies with Doctoral Minors in Counseling and Gerontology from OSU, Master's degree in Counseling from George Fox University. And, I received my undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.     M.S., CHES , B.S from WOU
Why WOU? There is a sense of small-town community that has existed regardless of how large the student population grows. It feels the same on campus as it did when I was a student in the late 1980's: friendly, safe, supportive, and encouraging.     I enjoy working with such creative, fun students, that care about making WOU a better place!
Hobbies Crafting at my cabin in Central Oregon, walking our three Australian Shepherds, and watching psychological thrillers on television or at the movies.
    Golf, cooking, and following sports!

Why WOU? I like the energy the students bring to campus. I enjoy helping college students stay healthy to achieve their dream of completing college and moving onto a successful career I love the campus, it is so beautiful and inviting.  I also love the sense of community.
Hobbies Scrapbooking, reading, crafting The arts, reading, walking Spending time with my family, reading and listening to music.

Why WOU? Fantastic, dedicated talented staff and clinicians, and the privilege of serving amazing students Working at WOU is a wonderfully unique experience.  I have the ability to work with fantastic staff and providers and love working with students.  The relaxed friendly environment is like no other place I have worked before.  I love it here!  
Hobbies Long distance cycling, camping, music and reading I love to ski, read and hang out with my kids

Why WOU? The friendly atmosphere and opportunity to help students from various backgrounds. I enjoy working with students to identify their goals and putting their plans into action. I love working with students on their life decisions and seeing them make successful transitions. I love working with WOU's intelligent, eager, and delightful students with diverse backgrounds and interest and who have a variety of reasons they seek counseling.  I have found WOU students to be very willing to learn about their mental health challenges. The students! I enjoy helping and talking with students to help them be successful.
Hobbies Spending time with my husband and bulldog Brutus, decorating and baking! Mountain biking, chess, playing the guitar I love to garden, am an amateur artist, and enjoy woodworking Hiking, soccer, music

Why WOU? I love working at WOU because of the fun and supportive team environment at the SHCC.  I also enjoy the unique and diverse atmosphere that a college campus provides. Great supportive community, lovely co-workers, and meaningful/rewarding work. I enjoy being able to interact with the students as well as working with a staff of professionals who are always kind and helpful.
