Health insurance survey
Oregon’s public university students are being surveyed to gain a better understanding about how health insurance coverage impacts them.
Current research shows:
- Adults ages 19-34 represent 39% of the uninsured in the U.S.
- 23% of uninsured individuals needed care but did not get it due to cost
- 26% of uninsured individuals postponed seeking care due to cost
Participation in this survey will be used to help provide affordable health insurance for these students.

Blood Drives:
Each term, the Student Health and Counseling Center sponsors the American Red Cross’s Blood Drive. Notices and online updates are sent out to the campus and community as the terms blood drive approaches for individuals to make appointments online. learn more

Making an appointment:
The first appointment is an intake session. This session allows you to become more comfortable with the counselor and the counselor to become acquainted with your concerns. Any student of WOU, registered for at least nine credit hours, is eligible to access the counseling center for an intake session and five (5) follow-up sessions for free. Students who wish to continue counseling after their five follow-up sessions will be charged $30 a session through the student's WOU account.
- If you would like to make an appointment, or for more information, call 503.838.8396 or stop by the counseling center. Students in crisis are seen immediately.
