TRIPS

The Natural Science Club promotes, encourages, and supports science education-oriented field trips because we believe that hands-on experience in the outdoors is one of the most important ways to learn science and respect the world around us.

Faculty lead field trips based on research interests and/or student suggestions. Recent partly to mostly funded field trips have included the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, Friday Harbor Laboratories, Grand Canyon National Park, Yellowstone National Park, and Mt. St. Helens National Volcanic Monument. Students pay minimal remainder expenses out-of-pocket ($30-100). Some field trips require moderate to heavy hiking ability, clothing/gear, and experience. Because of transportation/permits, some field trips have only limited space and require signing up in advance.
