2009-2010 TRIPS

 

YOUTHCARE PROJECT
Students participating in Winter Alternative Break will be working with YouthCare, a homeless shelter for teenagers and young adults.  Students will be assisting YouthCare in their efforts to reach out and attempt to end the problem of teen homelessness in the Seattle Area. 

 

COMPASS COMMUNITY SERVICES  
Student participants will travel by van to Compass Community Services.  Mainly we will focus on Compass Family Center which is an emergency shelter for homeless families and children in the San Francisco area.  We will help renovate their new location and plan a variety of activities to allow families and children to participate in.

 

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
Spring Break trip 2010 will be working hand in hand with the Habitat for Humanity through their Collegiate Challenge program.  Students will be aiding in the efforts to bring housing to the underprivileged that live in the Yakima County region in Washington.  Students will also have the opportunity to interact with the Yakima Reservation and tribal members.
