Past Trips:

2006-2007 Teams

Lavonne's Fish Camp: (photo page click here) This team assisted a local area fishing/ recreation camp relocate their cabins and camp accessories.

 

AWARE: (photo page click here) This team traveled by van to Montana. The participants worked with special needs adults/ parents and youth( e.g. disabled, homeless, runaway). Participants aided the organization and helped people adjust to their situation.

 

Hurricane Relief Efforts (photo page click here) Participants flew to New Orleans, LA and worked with the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) Home Clean Out Program. This program works to clean and gut the homes of lower-income neighborhoods affected by the flooding of Hurricane Katrina.

 

Habitat for Humanity: (photo page click here) Students participating in the Alternative Winter Break were involved in various service learning projects located in the Willamette Valley. Some proposed service projects were; working with organizations such as soup kitchens, OMSI, the Red Cross, YMCA, Habitat for Humanity and other local non-profit sectors.

 

Eagle Condor Group: (photo page click here) This team traveled to Cusco, Peru and assisted in a local orphanage. They built a chicken/duck coop for the orphanage to have meat, eggs, and a product to sell. They also built soccer goals, and a volleyball court for the children to have an outdoor play area. Sports equipment was also donated by the team, as well as the chickens and ducks for the coop.

 

Habitat for Humanity: (photo page click here) This team worked with Habitat for Humanity helping build new homes for families in need. Participantsl traveled by van to either Mount Vernon, WA or Spokane, WA. The work week will be over Spring Break and will includee some time off to explore and do some site seeing.

 

Forgotten People Foundation: (photo page click here) This team traveled to Vietnam for 10 days to help work in an orphanage and a leper colony. Some site seeing was incorporated into their travels as well.
