Old PE Gym/Racquetball Courts

The Old PE gym was built in the 1930's and is used for academic classes, some limited athletic practices, and Campus Recreation for drop in play and for intramurals on the nights that there are home athletic events in the New PE gym area. There are two small side courts and a major basketball court. This facility can be used by students for "rat ball" as long as there is no academic classes using the area. Campus recreation staffs this area beginning at 6:30 pm M-F and has hours on Saturday & Sunday as well. This facility is closed the days there is a WOU home football game, as the football locker rooms are located in it as well as the football training room. One of the locker areas that leads to the swimming pool is used by the football officials as their dressing area. Some academic and the majority of the football staff offices are located in this building.
The racquetball courts are attached to the Old PE gym area and there are two. These may be used by anyone as long as there is no class using the area. Reservations are taken by both phone and walk in at the equipment cage area. The courts are six feet short of being regulation so many of the better players do not utilize them.
